Perhaps it is an old insight, but experiencing biking, cycling long‑distance or fast, is not so much about the pressure you push down onto the pedal, but more about how much you lift up.
The more you lift up, the faster you go.

I’ve noticed I’m reaching a point where I need people to need what I do, I can’t keep the pressure on, or keep my foot down, for others anymore. That may sound more dramatic than it is, in reality it isn’t, it’s easy to sit back and feel it.
